Blanket on the ground. For some reason, everytime I eat on a picnic table, I always get wood shavings stuck in my pants. But a blanket, you have to deal with the itchy grass.
Hmm...maybe a picnic table then.

Definitely a blanket on the ground - I always feel a bit cheated when we sit at a table for a picnic.
It defeats the whole object of having a picnic - there has to be ants, there has to be sand in your sandwiches, you have to sit on the most uncomfortable rock/clump of grass ever and somebody always forgets the bottle opener to open the wine....ITS THE RULES!!!!
