Okay, as odd as this sounds, my leg hairs and arm hairs have stopped to almost a standstill and now I am getting hair from my belly button to the pubic region. Is this associated with hormones? Why is it on my belly, and if I shave it will it grow thicker? It is not really dark, but I've never had hairs on my belly.

17 weeks pregnant with first.

He he he...I'm the same way. it's like my leg hair no longer grows...cause it all grows on my belly now. I look like I have a fuzzy belly. My belly is more hairy than my boyfriends, lol...he thinks it's kinda yucky, but I call it my "furry belly" lol...I'm not going to shave or wax it...it's part of pregnancy and you'll have to keep up with the rapid growth for 9 months...nevermind that!

OMG I have hair on my belly too and I am also 17 weeks! But my leg and arm hair is growing faster as well. I also have it on my neck and lower back. I thought it was the prenatal vitamins, but I had been taking those for a year while trying to conceive and didn't have all this fuzz then. I am afraid to shave it because I don't want it to come back thicker, so I just leave it alone. I am so glad I am not the only one :)

It is just part of the hormonal change during pregnancy. Don't worry about it, you will loose it as soon as you have your baby. I don't know if you have noticed a dark line running in the same direction as the hair... I had it and I was so scared! But then I had my second child and the same story, and then the third and the same thing happened...the doctor told me it was normal.

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. That happened to me too, thank goodness I am a blonde. It's normal and it's just from the hormones.

It's normal, cause by hormones. Shaving it will make it more pronounced. It should go away after you have your baby. Congratulations.
