A good many of these jerks get a swelled head when given authority , the same is often seen in the service also . Earning authority doesn't make them capable of handling it or people and they almost instantly become major idiots , that must be why they nickname cops d**ks !

You can't really make a blanket statement about any group of people because there are always exceptions, but I do understand what you mean about the police.
I also agree with what Zap said.
I have personally known some police officers who are genuinely good people but I have also come across lots of a**h***s. I think it's important that people who work in law enforcement have periodic sensitivity training or seminars reminding them that they are working to help and protect PEOPLE. But burn-out happens in any profession.
I have worked in geriatrics for 15 years and have seen PLENTY of caregivers act less than caring toward their patients simply because they forget that they are treating human beings.
But also keep in mind the dangerous positions police officers are often in. It must be a very stressful job. Not everyone can do that kind of work, HOWEVER, I'm sure there are many officers who really shouldn't be.

Maybe because they have to risk their lives everyday so we can be safe! And then what happens... people want to be disrespectful. Think about what police officers have to go through every time they get out of a car. They never know what kind of idiot they will be approaching!!

The reason most police are rude, they have a superiority complex where they feel that the law doesn't apply to them...doesn't help that our evolving fascist government gives them all that power.
