I would sell them at about 15 to 20 dollars.
I would write in an inspirational message.
You can read it first and then buy the rock.
The message will be hand written and on a scroll.
I would perfer to sell the natural beauty but I will also have polished rocks as well.

Here is an example:
Category: Teachers
Message: Today I will look around at what I have taught
and I will see what I am. If I don't like it,
I will have the courage to change.
I will make sure my "self-presentation" is true to who I am. I speak as I am, what I am, and about who I am. I make it clear where I stand on things.

Please give me your feedback and/or comments.

THANKS!

Thank you for your feedback.
But here is the question of truth:
If u were in the swapmeet or an open booth fair, and saw these rocks with good messaages,... WOULD you buy them? For yourself or as a gift?

Thanks for the business idea!!! - Just Kidding

I think there are some things to consider before jumping into this venture.

1. How will you market it?
2. Who are your customers?
3. Supply of suitable rocks?
4. Origin of writings??? You must credit the writer and have their permission to use.

Sorry but this idea has been done. There's a small kiosk at my local mall that does that. I've never seen anyone buying anything there. The problem is, why would someone pay you to write on a rock? Isn't that something they could do themselves?

You need to offer something extra, something different. If you could laser engrave the rock, that would make it cool, but writing is just too ordinary.

Not sure what area you are in, but the price seems a little steep to me (in Oklahoma, insert red-neck joke).

Do you really think you can create enough sales of rocks to cover expenses? Lease, web-hosting, insurance, accounting, taxes, etc?

Try a booth at a craft fair first, see how that goes and go from there.

Good Luck.
