My mom was the same way, with the whole why do need to sleep there, you can sleep here, what is the point thing...

I don't know how old you are, but I wasn't allowed to sleep other places until I was 12 or 13, but I was allowed to have other people at MY house when I was younger. If its really killing you to have a sleepover, ask your mom what are the possibilities that people could come stay with you. She could get to meet your friends, see what exactly goes on at sleepovers and then maybe once she see how much you enjoy it, she may let you go somewhere else.

If this is a no go, start small...have your friends around more...or at least talk about them more, so that your mom knows who exactly you are spending time with...maybe even ask if she wants to meet your friends parents so that she knows whose care you will be under when you are sleeping away from home.

If it comes down to it, just ask her mom...didn't you go to sleepovers, don't you remember how much fun they are? Parents were kids once, but they forget how exciting this stuff is for you.
Eventually she'll ease up.

if she won't let you sleep at your friends house, maybe she'll let the sleepover be at your house?
