I bleed everyday of my first trimester. It was brown blood which my doctor said is better then red. Brown means its old blood. I went in for an ultrasound and they found what they called a sub-chorionic bleed. It did not affect the baby at all. And required no action. I was just told to stop exercising and no sex. I went back in two weeks and the bleed was gone but I was still bleeding. My doctor just monitored me and nothing was wrong, I had a couple of more ultrasounds because of the bleeding but everything was normal. My doctor said some women just bleed. She could not tell me why, but she did say that it usually goes away once your in your second trimester. And she was right, it stopped. I now have a healthy 4 month old little girl. I would let your doctor know and she will probably send you for an ultrasound. But don't worry yourself to much. I know I was so stressed out and hated going to the bathroom, everytime I went I kept hoping it would be gone. Then finally one day it was. Try not to worry to much, I know its hard, but try. Good luck and congrats.

No, bleeding is abnormal. Bleeding may indicate a "threatened miscarriage" but there are numerous things that can cause bleeding during early pregnancy that dont represent a risk to the baby. Heavier bleeding is more concerning and bleeding accompanied by severe cramps often predicts that a pregnancy will miscarry. The doctor can evaluate the status of the pregnancy usually by doing and exam, perhaps accompanied by serial betaHCG levels and ultrasound.

I am an obgyn nurse, and for some women it is...MOST women it is not. I would go and see a doctor as soon as you can. If you are in REALLY early pregnancy stages then you could be miscarrying...but again...it's different for lots of women.

I have seen on this site people ask about bleeding or spotting. If you are BLEEDING...then it is a constant. SPOTTING is off and on occasionally which is normal for some women. Bleeding is NOT!

So determine which category you fall into and go from there. If you are spotting just wait for your next appt. If you are BLEEDING go in ASAP.

Good luck!

Bleeding is normal, however it is the amount of blood you should be worried with! Some women that are pregnant have periods. Also, a little blood is normal! Your best bet is to take a test and if you are than consult your doctor, and follow up immediately, every person is different and if you need answers ask an expert, you never know what might happen if you wait. Take care of yourself!

It may be implantation bleeding. It all depends on how far along you are. Also, if you had sex or an internal exam at the dr, it can cause some spotting. Are you bleeding or spotting? If you are bleeding like period and you have cramps, call the dr immediantly. But if its spotting and you are really early in the pregnancy, they say it isn't that big of a deal, many pregnant women still spot since all those changes are going on down there. Call your dr anyway for some insight.

No bleeding is never normal in pregnancy despite what people say. it does not always mean miscarriage. I bleed for 7 days very lightly with no pain and then i miscarried. But some bleed and have healthy births. Best to get it checked out.

You've got to receive prenatal care. An appointment a month. If you haven't contacted a doctor yet you need to. If you are just in between appointments and worried about the bleeding call and ask for a nurse to call you. She can tell you if you need to come in early or not.

Some light bleeding is normal but if there is any clots or cramping you need to see a doctor right away! I would still see the doctor anyways just to be sure.

You can have some implantation bleeding, but that would be around the time your peirod was due. There are many reasons why you will bleed when pregnant and it should be reported to your OB right away. I bled a lot and ended up having placenta previa. Everything turned out allright thank goodness.

Bleeding can be perfectly normal. I would definitely make it a point to have it checked out, just to be on the safe side. Try not to worry so much till then. Good luck to you and your baby.
