They're overrated big time. That's what's wrong. They really only have two good players (Kiprusoff and Iginla, maybe Heuselius). Other than those three they are overrated players, starting with Phaneuf. Phaneuf is complete garbage out there. I would rather have a defensman that can play defense, not just score a few goals. It's like skating around a pylon that will take himself out of the play to hit you. Conroy coming back adds nothing, he wasn't good when he was here before and he's still not that good. I don't understand why they think a 30 point guy like him is going to bring them to the cup. Because he was there last time? Well, so was Steve Montador but would you bring him back? No, because he sucks. The Flames just aren't a very good team, that's the bottom line and to add to it, Jim Playfair and Darryl Sutter are idiots. Sutter has made one good move and that's bringing Kiprusoff in. They're just another average team and I guarantee they will lose in the first round because they can't play on the road.

The only thing that is keeping the Flames from being an elite team is their road record. I mean, if the Flames played on the road like they do at the dome, I wouldn't have to be answering your question right now. The only difference between the whole year, and the last 10 games, is that the Flames are playing on the road more now.

What needs to happen for them to get better on the road, I think is for them to be blown out. I mean when they hit the road against Edmonton or St. Louis, to lose by 4 or 5 goals. The Flames need to be embarrassed, and then it will become desperate for them to win some road games.

So to answer your question, they are in a slump right now, no doubt. But I think that coming home for a few games now will help pull them out of it, and push them into top spot in the NorthWest.
GO FLAMES GO!!!

Nothing is wrong with them
they are a perfect and hard working team.
They have amazing players,
Iggy, kipper,phaneuf,conroy,huseilous(sp.) and manny more.
they have 2 new players from the boston bruins that made the flames even stonger, but they also lost 2 good players.
The only thing is, is that kipper chokes on shot outs. mY idea would be to put McClennan(sp.?) in the net and see how he does.
The flames are an amazing team and i would Always chose them as #1
heres a video i wanted to show u. Look at all of th0se fans at 1.51! Amazing!!!

The inconsistent play of Miikka Kiprusoff. He had a good start, but lately has been merely human, average, mediocre. In his last 7 games he has a .886 save percentage with a 3.33 Goals Against Average.

This is anything but Kiprusoffian.

Geez, where to start!
The whole team is Kipper. If they didn't have him, they would easily have the worst record in the league.
Iggy is solid but had a brutal year.
They have no other players on that team at all.
And, living in Cowtown makes them all Brokeback Flamers.
Their sexuality is definitely in question.
Their jerseys are brutal. Logo is brutal and plain.
Their team originally came from Atlanta, they didn't start their own traditions.
etc
etc
etc
