When you start losing it little by little you will have some blood but not a lot of blood and a clearish gooey thing. Sometimes you can't see the gooey thing. If you lose i all at once you will probably have more blood than if you lost it little by little but do not worry. Mine came out when I was in the hospital and there was a lot of blood. I was on the epidural so I couldn't feel anything. When I woke up from a nap I looked down and there was blood I thought that I had given birth already but they told me it was the plug.

Your mucus plug forms as soon as the egg implants in the lining of your uterus after fertilization. It is a "seal" over the cervix, and as the cervix softens before labor you'll release the plug.

I am an obgyn nurse, and some women don't even notice their mucus plug when they go into labor...it's not something to worry about, and not something you'll probably ever see. You might get a discharge right before you start thinning or your water breaks. Good luck!

It's known as a seal to protect the baby. It blocks off anymore sperm or any infections. It forms when u get pregnant and falls out a couple days before u have the baby.

It's a protective barrier that forms across your cervix when you get pregnant and it stays there until you are nearly ready to give birth.
Its purpose is to prevent infection crossing to the baby
