It has always been you

Onto the sea
I sailed my boat
And prayed that it
Would stay afloat

From dawn til dusk
From dusk til dawn
In search of love
I drifted on

What happened then
I don't recall
I think it was
A sudden squall

For when I awoke
I thought I died
At the sight of an angel
At my side

But lucky for me
That was not true
For I found love
And love was you

Yes I loved that poem the first time I read it. I actually put it in a valentines card to my husband last year. It had meaning for us, since we actually met on the internet, the sybolism of sailing on the sea was to surfing the net for us.

Its been posted a few times on the net, but different people have tried to take credit for it so I dont know who is the real author. whoever it is, they need to write more!! :)

You have a very nice poem there!

I was going to write a poem for you
But that would not be the thing to do
For all my poems in this precious life
Are for my lady, my loving wife...like this one I wrote for her years ago.....(Our special song is "I Will" by the Beatles.)

Why I Love My Cathy

She prays with me at dinner each and every day.
She likes to wear what's casual. I like to dress that way.
She likes to play Nintendo and she's very good at chess.
I find her kind of sexy when her hair is in a mess.
She always says, "I love you," for all the little things.
I like it when she plays guitar, especially when she sings.
I lover her sense of humor, her unexpected jokes.
And she doesn't seem to mind when I drink way too many cokes.
I love that everywhere we go we're always holding hands.
And when I'm blue or feeling sad, she always understands.
She's always entertaining. She never is a bore.
Did I mention how we dance together in the grocery store?
So from all the lines above I hope that you can see,
The best days of my life began the day she married me.
My joy is that I truly know through all life's stormy weather,
She'll forever walk beside me and we'll always be together
Fifty or a hundred years from now will I love her still?
I can tell you now without a doubt my answer is "I Will"

Ooh, like it.
As I see it,he symbolism of a boat at sea is you as the boat and the sea being your life, ever trying to find someone and you being lost at sea is you never being able to find That One.
But that's just me.
Like the poem, whether I am wrong or not!

Not bad at all, though you might try woke instead of awoke, it would flow a smidge better :) -- Nice work though
