My basset-hound, Copper, is almost 3 years old and still acts like a puppy! But then he is part mutt... he's 3/4 basset.

I owned a Basset once "Dave"... He was quite active and loved to follow me by scent. He didn't run too fast, so I'd get ahead of him a bit and hide. Always found me... Just short distances at first, in a fenced yard. Then it was on to the big park... He loved doing this and would do it all day if I'd have let him!!

Mine is pretty active. She is the fastest out of my 3 dogs to pick up food dropped off the counter.

i've got two right now the male is always running and barking just a pain in the butt .the female just lays around being a big o lover dog. thier names are Homer and Heather. We sold the last litter of pps right before christmas she had 10 puppies.

My friend has 2 and they are not 2 active....they run in the year abit but other than that they are lazy and loving life.

I assume that they eat and ****. In my book, that counts as activity (however minimal it is). Maybe you should pay more attention to what your dog does all day long, or to the mess he creates.
