Personally I have no faith in any of the three parties, and I think there must be a genetic link with the blood of Tony Blair to Maggy Thatcher (perhaps he is a secret offspring), since he has no understanding of the real world. I can't wait to see the back of T.B.

Colin pete you made an interesting comment, but I too have been voting since 1951 when 21 was the age of the vote, but I refused to vote at the last election, because no MP will stand up for the country in case they rock the boat, and lose favour for themselves,

It really depends on where you live. If you live in England the only reasonable choice you have if you do not want to vote for Con, Lab or Lib is the English Democratic Party, The Green Party or Respect if they have a candidate.
In Scotland there is the Scottish National Party and the Scottish Socialist Party. In Wales there is Plaid Cymru, Forward Wales , Peoples Voice and the Independents.
I would agree with you in not having faith in the big three as all they do is deceive us and look after their own interests.

Dear emiss, It is a great shame that you seem to have lost faith with the 3 main political parties. Do not blame T.B. for all that ails this country. I know he seems to have got us into a war that nobody else wanted except for Herr Bush but so did Maggy.
She started the Falklands War to divert attention from 3 million unemployed, a completely destroyed heavy industry, and a completely crap National Health service.
In her day the waiting time for a varicoses vein operation was about 2 years after having seen a consultant. The year before last from the time from my doctor requested an appointment for me to when I had the operation was just 4 months.
I pray to my God that the Tories never get into power in my lifetime. Having seen what they have done in the local councils where they hold power.
I personally don't like or agree with the policies of Ken Livingstone but he fought long and hard against the Tories to get free travel for pensioners on London Transport.
Please Emiss what ever your opinion when it is time for an election VOTE. Men and women in times gone by have gone to prison, been deported and in some laid down their lives to give you your right to vote.
If you don't vote you cannot criticize.
I hope labour win the next election, perhaps the liberals will improve their standing . If the Tories do god help us all because they will undo all the good that has been done and make our country worse than it is now.

I agree with your sentiments re. Blair and this Government, however, once again, together with the comment by 'colinpete', I simply do not understand at all, why you try to draw an analogy between Blair and Thatcher, and 'colinpete' goes on to argue that she destroyed British industry.

They couldn't be more different, Thatcher was a patriot, Blair wants to hand Britain over to the EU. Thatcher believed in the family, law and order, and grammer Schools. In short, she certainly wasn't a left winger. It wasn't Thatcher who destroyed British industry, it was the Unions with their endless strikes and unreasonable pay demands. It was essential that their tyrannical powers were curbed.

So, couldn't agree more re. Blair, but I always have to challenge that greatest of all lies, "Thatcher destroyed British Industry". When Thatcher took over, Britain was an absolute basket case, she rescued it and gave us credibility on the world stage again. Why can't people see that. Has the left wing propaganda machine, in the form of teachers/lecturers - TV media - this government et al, been so successful, that the truth has been submerged under lies.

Incidently, Thatcher didn't start the Falklands war, the Argies. invaded the Malvinos, a British territory. The population wanted it to remain so.

It seems that the truth has ceased to be important to the left. But, it would be nice in future, instead of throwing out the old lies about Thatcher, we could have supporting explanations as to why that opinion has been arrived at.

This government is gonna get a smack on the bum in the next election. The public are getting sick, not only of Mr Blair, but politics in general.
I was not going to vote at the next election, because my opion of politicians - any colour - is very low, although I have to help pay for them.
But I will go to the next polling booth, and write 'None of the above' on my paper. Although this will be treated as a spoiled ballot paper, if enough people did this, then it would prove that the public have had enough of British potitics as it stands.

Looking at the possible likely suspects, I reckon we should go for something completely different.

Vote Monster Raving Loony.

It doesn't make sense, of course, but, neither do the others.

In a Democratic society, there should be a ballot that says, None Of The Above. If enough Americans pull that vote, all candidates should be removed. And replaced with new candidates.

Vote BNP, as stated, they have a rather fresh and more robust approach than the sump monitoring rods that are currently in power, no wonder cross eyed geeks are rebelling. Hallelujah! How the feck did he find the letter box slit with eyes like that? Specksavers have a lot to answer for lol

I am going to finally vote for the BNP!!!Every party becomes power hungry and forgets its roots a' la Monsieur Blair. But I am doing it for a very selfish reason.I was born in Malaysia, came here in 1973,look suspiciously like a "terrorist"especially when I can't afford the razor blades David Bloody Beckham keeps advertising. On the event of the BNP coming to power I will finally be able to return to Malaysia on their compulsory repatriation programme. If only I could save £500!........NOW!!

I know it appears worthless, but I will turn up at the polling booth and write ''no confidence in any party'' across the slip. (Spoilt vote).

It occurs to me that if millions did that, it might get noticed, although I doubt it.
