Okay, it all depends on what data you lost and where it was stored...what operating system and how the data was lost. Either way, system restore won't help you much with this unless you uninstalled a program or changed a system setting or what have you. You could try to recover it by downloading software that searches for deleted files, but remember the more you use your machine the less likely it is going to be for recovery. since deleted files are not really deleted, but written over you can access these files and get them back using the software. It is worth a shot try searching for "freeware file recovery" in google, you could also try snapfiles.com or cnet.com to search for free software...good luck!

If your hard drive is still functional and you accidentally deleted a file, then you can use recovery software to attempt the recovery of the file. If you need a piece of software to do the recovery, then just search google.com for "file recovery."

u might be able to do a system restore start , all programs , accessories , system tools and system restore. try it if not the u will have to do a reinstall of ur operating system
