Four might be a little young for Bridge to Terabithia. It's a good movie and has some really good themes for kids, but I really think it's aimed at the 8-12 age range. There are some heavy themes that a 4 year-old, even a smart one, may not understand. And the movie isn't really visually stunning. Depending on your kid there are somethings that might be a bit scary as well.

I wouldn't say it's inappropriate for a 4 year-old, I just don't think he will "get it".

I saw this movie with my son recently- and I would have to say that the commercials were a little misleading (not knowing the book myself). There is not as much fantasy as the ads suggest, and more about the trials and tribulations of being an 11 year old. Not to mention the death of the lead characters friend- the audience in the theater went absolutely silent! I wouldn't suggest this movie for anyone under 10. Hope that helps!

I have not seen this movie or read the book, but when it comes out on DVD I will let my four-year-old watch it with me. It is Disney after all.
I let her see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and both Pirates movies. She was not scared and she loved them. It really depends on the child.

Some pretty scary scenes in this movie, there is also some child abuse and adult themes. You may want to see this before taking a four year old to it.

i don't think a 4 year old would be able to understand what is going on, and there are some scenes that might scare him. i'd wait a few years.

of what i heard it's not really a kids movie especially for kids 6 and under. I prefer it for kids older because they will not understand and it may be a little too much for him

i think a four year old can watch that movie.a new born can watch a movie.and sometimes understand it.since it shows the previews on disneychannel,it shouldnt be violent because disneychannel has and has to have secure movies and shows.
