I asked a question about what might be causing my Liberty to squeak. Some people said the bushings.

Only the front of the Jeep makes the noise and it comes and goes. It sounds like something needs to be greased. Like the sound of an old door. The noise happens if I go straight or turn.

I took it to 2 mechanics and of course the Jeep wouldn't make the noise and they said it looked fine. I have an appointment with our Jeep dealership next week and they will charge $49.99 just to look at it. Is that my best bet? Should I go elsewhere? How can I see if it's the bushings? Can we fix it?

Lot'sa questions here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :o)

Get a good old fashion lube job before spending the $50 to hear "It looks fine to me" again. The lube job wont cost as much & it doesnt hurt to have that done anyway

The ball joint in the centering yoke on the rear of the front force shaft could have dried out. that could reason a squeaking noise. I purely heard mine at severe speeds. in case you will get rid of the force shaft your self you are able to then force the Jeep and if the squeak isn't there then the centering ball joint is the probably issue. you will get a clean yoke from areas shops or get a driveshaft place to change it out for you.

Go to the dealer, but don't worry if they don't fix the problem. If it's serious, it will get worse and when it's bad enough, a mechanic will be able to find the problem.

probubly from sitting, or from wear in the rotors, see if you can get the brake dust cleaned off the rotors, if that doesnt work you may need your rotors re surfaced, the thing that sucks about getting brake dust cleaned off is that it will just happen again

probably sway bar mounting bushes. Does it make any difference if weather is cold/hot/dry/wet/etc?
