I wouldn't let her date anyone that wasn't in the same grade in school as her, if I allowed her to date at all (which personally I wouldn't).

I guess it depends on if she's "dating" or just has a boyfriend that she sees at school and talks to on the phone. I'm sure you know your daughter well, but 14 is about the average age girls have sex for the first time. And it is almost always with an older boy. When my daughter turns 14 she may only have a boyfriend that she talks to on the phone, or sees at school. I might let her go to his house (only if his parents are home) or he might be allowed over to our house for dinner or a movie. I'd say 15 is old enough for a 14 year old girl. And her boyfriend must get good enough grades in school. I might sound strict, but I was a good kid, but I found myself in sticky spots because I was allowed to do too many things when I was 14. Good luck! I have a 12 year old son, a 19 month old son and I am pregnant with a baby girl. I'll be in your shoes soon enough. :) Take care!

I wouldnt let her date anybody that has a drivers license, just because you cant be sure exactly where he is taking her. And in high school 2 years is a very big difference anyway. I would say 15, because 15 year olds can drive when they get their permit, but they need an adult in the car, so it would be somewhat supervised, but you wouldnt be strangling your daughter with control. that way she doesnt feel you are oppressing her, but you still have an idea of what is going on between them. at this age teenagers need some level of privacy in dating, but they should not ever be allowed to go out with their boyfriend completely unrestricted for more than about 2 or 3 hours.

115 years old but don't go any higher. Just kidding.15 year old boys are dangerous because they just got there learners permit and will drive there parents car when no one else is around, except for your daughter,16 year old boys are dangerous because they just got a new fast car for there birthday, 17 year old boys are now getting comfortable driving really fast, and it is not legal for her to date an 18 year old. O and think about the different places these young horny boys will want to be driving your young, innocent daughter. Hope this answers your question.

14 year old girls are not mature enough to take on the responsibility of dating. Dating should begin no younger than 16 and then should be in groups. You will regret letting her date at such a young age, if you choose that.
Good Luck! If you do decide to let her date at 14 then teach her about birth-control. All parents cannot imagine that their own daughter would consider having sex at 14. But statistics have proven many parents wrong. She will be put in compromising situations and be expected to make adult decisions in areas she has no clue what to do when actually faced with it. And the boys that will convince or rape young inexperienced girls is a high statistic as well. And your daughter would most likely never tell her parents that she was raped because she will probably convince herself it was her own fault. Dating is pressure and difficult for young women in their 20's let alone a teenager.
Times have changed folks! Don't encourage her to take on adult roles with a child's mind.
