I got an aircraft carrier made of Styrofoam and it had a helicopter that actually flew around it. You had some control over its direction with a remote control. Unfortunately, it was in the late sixties and when you missed the carrier the rotor spring got all tangled in the shag carpeting in my room. It took hours to untangle it, but when you did it was a blast. Other than that I'd say a battery powered record player. I know, I know...I'm very old.

Crosman scoped 10-pump BB/Pellet Rifle when I was 8.
Looking back, it's probably the one gift I've learned the most from. Now I am an excellent shot with anything, and have also been able to learn alot about physics like aerodynamics, gravitation, wind drift, optics, and ballistics on the side.
