In Indian culture, the family prides itself on the success of its children. Education is considered to be extremely valuable. It is shameful to have a child that is not successful, and that puts a great amount of pressure on Indians. In America, children are taught that every one is different and parents should accept you for who you are. Your education is not a reflection of the family and therefore there is less pressure.
