From Here to Eternity or Tora! Tora! Tora!

She is studying WWII and I want to use a movie to bring what she has been studying to life. She doesn't have problems with war movies- she has watched Gettysburg and God's and General over and over again. I just haven't seen From Here to Eternity or Tora! Tora! Tora! so I don't know if they are OK.

From Here to Eternity is less a war movie and more about things that are happening during a war. Tora! Tora! Tora! is a pretty good movie about Pearl Harbor. I don't recall anything inappropriate in Tora! Tora! Tora!, but when I watched it I wasn't thinking about whether it was ok for a 10 year-old.

Well it's been a while since I have seen either, But I think that From Here to Eternity is more of a love story during WWII, And Tora,Tora,Tora Is more factual. So my pick would be Tora Tora Tora .

Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima are two great flicks and show opposing sides of the WWII's Pacific Fight. Flags is out on DVD, Letters is still in some select theatres.

Both of those movies are 'heavy', but you should not deny your child the opportunity to see them
Other films I recommend are -
Saving Private Ryan
Paths Of Glory
Schindler's List
The Dam Busters

My brother is 11 and he saw From Here to Eternity and he had no problems with it. He was very enthralled the entire time.
