I'm trying to work out the Robinson family tree, i know there was jim and he was presumably married to helen - is this right? and does that make paul and phil brothers? if so, why did phil run a newsagents if his family was rich? or did paul become rich by being evil. This is before my time, please help.

Jim wasn't married to Helen, he was married to Helen's daughter Ann Daniels, who then died giving birth to Lucy (who had a dramatic life - went blind when she fell in a storm drain, was cured, had an emergency tracheaochtomy on the kitchen table, worked as a stripper, etc...) Jim always stayed close to his mother in law though, and lived with her most of the time. Jim's kids were Paul, Scott, Julie, Lucy and Glen. Phil was Julie's husband - he wasn't a Robinson but a Martin.
Paul did start rich (the family owned Lassiters, and Paul did well out of it) but got richer later. Philip Martin wasn't rich, because Julie wasn't part of the Lassiters business, and she'd married him when he was working as a bank manager. They went on to have Debbie, Hannah/Button and Michael.

You have it wrong, Helen was Helen Daniels and she was the mother of Jims wife, who we never saw. Jim and his wife had 4 children, Paul, Julie, Scott and Lucy. Julie was married to Phil who was called Phil Martin. so he was Pauls brother in law. Jim also had a son turn up as a grown man who Paul hated called Glen. His mother had been a nurse who he'd a fling with when he was in a war. Phil ran a newsagents because he wanted to, it was his dream. Paul became rich originally through hard work and ambition. Then apparently he ended up in prison adn is now very dodgy.

Jim wasn't married to Helen. She was his mother-in-law. She was Helen Daniels. There was no Phil Robinson but Phil Martin lived with Jim and Helen for a while. There was a family link to Helen but I can't remember what it was. Hope this helps a bit. Paul did become rich though being evil. Sharon

Phil martin as the previous person said was married to Jim's eldest daughter Julie who died! so that makes him his son-in-law
Thy had 3 kids together, the girls were called hannah and debbie but can't remember the boys name!

Helen was Jim's mother-in-law, but I guess he could have had a relationship with her at some point

also paul had a brother called scott played by jason donovan and a step brother called glenn who I think was played by russel crowe there was a sister too called lucy played by about 4 girls of different ages
