I am so glad that you asked- and gave the other comments- you can take a pregnancy test now, and if she is it should show up. Yes, you both are young- but you did not think you were too young to have sex, so now if she is pregnant both of you have choices to make- abortion is not a good choice- I think you know that- it takes the life of the baby- yes, the baby is living from the time of conception. The heart is beating 3 weeks after conception, etc. Your girlfriend could have many emotional and physical risks also if she had an abortion. I know I counsel young women who are pregnant and considering abortion, or have had on already. Adoption is a great choice, you can remember giving life and today you can even select the adoptive family. Have her take a first response preg. test, and if you want to talk more, you may email me. I wish you all the best.

Well, she can take an EPT test or a Clearblue test to determine if she is pregnant. She could be late due to stress, or her cycle changing. I would take a test today. Usually you take the EPT test up to 5 days before your missed period. It's best that she take the test 1st thing in the moring, however it's not recomemnded.

Worrying will not help the problem, her getting the care and vitimans she needs will. Really you know what you were getting into when you decided not to use protection. Should have been worrying then.

However take the test, and I wish you nothing but the best.

Good Luck!

I don't want to sound harsh, but you both really should have started worrying before getting into bed. 17 year olds don't need to be having intercourse. There are other things couples can do. At your age, you shouldn't let it go past oral sex.
You can avoid these "accidents" by keeping your clothes on. Home pregnancy tests are not reliable. The very best way is to visit Planned Parenthood or find her a gyn (preferably a female if she wants). They will give the official word on whether or not she is pregnant. If she wants an abortion, it is really her choice. If it turns out she's not pregnant, then DON'T penetrate her again!!
That's how you avoid an 'oops.'

I wouldn't starting worrying yet, especially since that could be the cause of her being late. Stress does that. If you plann on doing a home pregnancy test, don't bother unti she is two weeks late. The test looks for a hormone that isn't detectable until 2 weeks. Until then, try not to think about it. I know, easier said than done.

I would wait until your period is two weeks late before you start getting too worried. At that point, your body will have produced enough hormone to have an accurate test.

When i was in high school, on occaision, my period would skip a month, your body might still be trying to find a rhythm. But if still late in another week or so, go to your health department to take a test, its confidential and usually free,.

If you both are stressed and worried then it is very possible that she isn't pregnant. Stress can make a body do some horrible things. It wouldn't hurt to go out and buy a EPT test and have her take it. IF she isn't pregnant then you really need to be more careful. Maybe have her get on the pill and then less likely to become pregnant.

You should start worrying the moment you have sex without protection. If indeed she is pregnant, it is not the end of the world. You have a choice in the matter: She can either have an abortion, have the child and give it up for adoption, or both of you can raise the child. All choices have their rewards and consequences. Next time you want some love, use the glove.

Start worrying now. Pregnancy tests are getting better and can show if you are + or - as soon as 5 days after your missed period.

For best results go to planned parenthood or an obgyn for a blood test and urine test. Blood test are better for early results...

Good luck!

well she should take a pregnancy test now... FIRST RESPONSE is supposed to tell you within days of a missed period, so buy that speicific kind, that would be your best bet... also, why are you having sex at 17? your both young, and now look at all the unneccsary stress your both going thru... i really hope it works out, so that she is not preganat, but i also hope you both learned a lesson...always use a condom, or wait until marriage for sex.

If she started exercising or has been exercise hard or not eating that can delay her period. I have not had my period before for a whole month. Don't worry too much. After you have sex the girl usually wont have her period for a few weeks. My friend was also worried and in a few weeks it came. Chill, and just get a test in case.
