I try to surround myself with positive thinking (like shirts that read "Cheer Up" and "Love Life") and bright colours and whatnot all the time, and I actively try to be kind to people.

So, yes, I do have to remind myself. I think that most humans have realized that negativity attracts more attention. That isn't a good excuse by any means, but it does explain why there is SO MUCH negativity in this world.

But just one smile at one person a day and brighten up their world, for a short time ^_^

Yes. The main purpose of your mind is to keep you alive and functioning. It does this by THINKING and SOLVING PROBLEMS. In every second that you are awake, your mind is thinking. Thinking is a function of the mind.

As you go through your day and look out into the world, your mind is constantly looking for anything that might harm you, looking for ways to keep you safe. It is ever vigilant. This is why people always seem to be focused on THEIR PROBLEMS. This is why they are always so negative. The minute the mind solves one problem, it immediately begins looking for another one to solve. For example, say you are commuting to school. Your mind worries about "Will I be on time, is this the right bus, will I get a seat?, etc" It just moves from problem to problem. Since most people are constantly focusing on problems they perceive the world to be negative and hostile and do not realize their negativity is a result of their mind doing its job.

I remind myself on a daily basis to place the emphasis on the advantageous... it rather is an element of how I do my job and stay my existence. i'm a instructor - if I concentrated on the negatives of my artwork atmosphere (as a replace of looking resourceful, advantageous strategies) i would not be doing my job very effectively (or properly)! solid issues could be got here upon interior the middle of errors, warfare, and strife. large studying can come from there. If I basically concentrated on the justifications those issues are perplexing, i would not be lots of a learner.
