This is up to you. You can actually put your baby in her own room as soon as you take her home from the hospital. I know with my kids my wife kept them in the same room for about two months. After that she would put a baby monitor in their room. She basically put them in their own room when they started sleeping about 4 hours or more at a time.

In the end, the answer is entirely up to you. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with.

Yes, it's good to have the baby monitor close depending on how far away the baby's room is from yours. My 3 slept in their own room after the first couple of weeks. Enjoy parenthood it's such a blessing and the time flys by so quickly.

It's completely up to you as long as the baby doesn't have any medical problems that require you to be close to monitor her. If you are not comfortable with her in a different room then don't do it. There's nothing wrong with keeping your baby in your room until you are comfortable with her sleeping in her own room. As a parent don't do anything that goes against your gut instinct. Some babies prefer hearing their parents' breathing (or snoring) all night. And some babies don't sleep as well in a room with other people. So it's up to you and your baby!

Yes, It is perfectly okay to allow her to sleep in her own room at night. It is actually okay from day one.

There are so many monitors one can buy to be sure the baby is okay. we bought the angel monitor for his bassinet, It alarms us when and or if he ever stops breathing, I also bought the fisher price monitor for day time, which is also very good.

I am a first time mom too, and it is so scary when you hear all this stuff about S.I.D.S. but really I am sure your little bundle of joy will be fine. just follow the recomended sleeping from your Pediatrician, and all should be fine. But to ease your mind the Angel monitors are awesome!

It is perfectly fine, she could have been in her own room from day one. My first baby I kept in my room for several months, but once I got to #3, they were in their own room from the start. I just had a monitor to hear them.

My son stayed in his room from day one. It was only about 5 feet away so he was easy to get to when he needed me. We used a baby monitor to listen for him as well. It worked great.

Yes, why not? Many people put their babies in a seperate room as soon as they come home from the hospital. It is whatever you are comfortable with.

Yes you can put her in her own room. It's a good thing to start doing as well. This way she gets comfortable in her own space. I would suggest starting to place her in her crib on her back for naps.....then gradually work up to a full night's sleep.

GOOD LUCK!!

Yes just always put her on her back to sleep and make sure the crib is free of toys and such.

Absolutely, my son never slept in our room past the first week. Just be sure she is laying on her back.
