We hired someone to install the current dishwasher since we needed the electrical and plumbing hooked up. Will it be easy to replace it with a new one? The current one is only 1.5 yrs old.

Yes, it should be easy.

First, make sure you disconnect the power supply!!!

Then, simply disconnect the water and power supply to the machine, as well as the drain, then reconnect everything in the reverse order.

You will need to buy a connector that goes on the machine and hooks to the water supply line, or you can remove the old one from your old machine. It's only a couple bucks for the new one -- just don't forget it. They don't come on the new machines.

Don't forget to take out the two screws at the top, usually screwed into the countertop -- this is all that holds in / up the dishwasher.

Good luck.

They're usually not too hard. The electrical likely plugs in to a wall outlet so it's just a matter of taking the old cord off and putting it on the new one the same way. Even if it's wired directly, it will be wired into a junction box on the wall and won't be a big problem, but unless you're adventurous, remember to shut that breaker off! There should be a couple of screws under the lip of your counter that holds the old dishwasher in place. After you remove those the dishwasher should slide out pretty easily. Once you get in there, you'll see that the connections are relatively simple. Make sure you get the new unit level front to back and side to side and replace those screws and you're done.

Two screws hold it in position, under the front edge of your counter top. Under sink disconnect your drain hose (usually going into the garbage disposal), turn off hot water supply to dish washer. Usually the electric to the dishwasher will be plugged in under the sink as well. Disconnect water supply to dishwasher and pull the whole unit straight out.

Install the new washer in the reverse order.

It shouldn't be too hard.
Once the initial water and electrical are in place it's just a matter of hooking up the new one.

Note: I would pull the old one out before I bought a new one just so you can see where the hook-ups are and make sure the new one is in relatively the same area.

Yes, you should be able to do it. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

But make sure you know which wires are what...it's a good idea to label things as you undo them from the old so you know what goes where on the new.

Oh and don't forget to turn off the power.

Its fairly simple to reconnect the water connections, and the plug into the existing outlet. When you remove the old one, you can see where the connections go. You should also buy new water supply hoses at the same time.

I replaced mine. There were a couple of tight areas, so I bought
a flexible ratchet for about $ 7.00 and it made things easier.

No but it depends on your mechanical inclinations. It is easier to pay because if something goes wrong they should warrant work
