I already have my Associates of Science in Video production from the Art Institute. Now I'm looking to continue my education in graphic design. Should I go to a community college or to a university to major in graphic design?

It depends what you want to achieve. If you want a Bachelor's degree, a university might be best. However, a CC would be cheaper. Lots of factors come into play: Your mobility, your age, your talent and your desire to study with the best or just have a good solid groundwork in the field. Those are all variables.

If you're in your early 20s, have the time and the money, especially if you're single, I'd choose a University.

But if I were 45, had 3 kids, paying off a house and a car, married, going to school on a shoestring, a Community College would be best.

a community college is only 2 years, in which you would earn another associates degree. associates degree dont really mean much.the first 2 years are basically intro courses and the core classes, then 3rd and 4th yr in uni is when you take the classes that pertain directly to your major
you could start at a community college then transfer to a university to earn your bachelors degree. Many people do that to save money because of the high cost of a university

It mostly depends on your objective. If you want to work quickly and stay on the cutting edge, community college is probably best. If you want the security of having a bachelor's degree University is a better option. Universities are more expensive and make you take a broader range of courses, but this comes in handy if you want to switch fields later.
