The problem is that is a hormonal side effect from the baby that is making you sick. It usually goes away after the first trimester, but sadly, some women have it all through pregnancy. The best thing I found is try and nibble on a cracker or piece of bread every few minutes, that way you aren't letting yourself get too hungry. Try ginger ale, ginger is wonderful with aiding in nausea. The smells are just as normal, the sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy, and for me was the worst part. The only thing I can tell you is to follow my rule, no one is allowed to cook in the house for the first three months, it is sandwiches only.

When you go for your doctor's appointment, your doctor can prescribe you pills for the nausea, they work wonderfully and usually last for 8-12 hours, take one before bed if you feel worse in the morning. Hope your second trimester is more comfortable for you!

I just went through the same thing. What I found helped the most was keeping food in my stomach. Even if you feel nauseous, try to eat anyway. I read that protein and carbs were good to eat because they take longer to break down in your stomach, so it's longer before your stomach is empty and you feel nauseous again. I would make myself a peanut butter sandwich in the morning and nibble on it anytime I felt nauseous or hungry. I have also heard that the BRAT diet can help (Bananas, Rice, Apple Sauce, and Toast). There is a candy sold in a lot of maternity stores called Preggie Pops that helped me as well. If you are seriously ill though, call your doctor! You don't want to risk getting so dehydrated that you have go to the hospital! Good luck!

First off I would like to say congrats…You have a one of gods blessing growing in side of you second off me myself ill be 8 weeks tomorrow the 24 of feb. Im pregnant with my first child and I have been going thru the same thing since I was about 5 weeks. What seems to help me are crackers it doesn’t matter what kind just crackers. I basically eat them all thru out the day along with some little snacks like fruit and vegetables to keep my energy and iron and calcim going until I can start keeping food down..and take it slow I learned that I set my alarm clock 30 mins before I would usually get up for work have my crackers right next to my bed and just sit and eat them . Don’t just jump up outta bed and get ready to go to work. You body has to adjust. But that’s just my advise My morning sickness is a lot better now I use to get it all thru out the day..Oh and yeah the first trimester is like that from what I heard it will get better once we are in the second trimester.

First make sure you are taking your multi-vitamin/prenatal. The first time I was pregnant I was so sick I couldn't even stand long enough to wash the dishes. When I startd my prenatal it got better very fast.

Also keep water and satlines by your bedside all the times. Eat crackers and pretzles.

Also try ginger. not ginger ale, there is no real ginger in that. Try ginger candies or a ginger tea.

and do not take Pepto-Bismol that is very dangerous to pregnant mothers.

I would call your doctor anyway they may see you sooner and they have medicine they can give you. As far as home remedies that are safe ginger ale, saltine crackers, peppermint candies, peppermint or ginger tea. What i do find is that is i get out of bed too quickly i don't feel good so i lie awake in bed a few minutes b4 i get up. Good Luck Many blessings

I had morning sickness all day long until 8th month doctors considered placing me in hospital for IV's. the only thing that made the nausea bearable was sips of coke. Only gained 11 pounds baby was perfectly healthy.

It is a vitamin, mineral deficiency. Take a good Multivitamin at night before bed. Usually you can keep them down then.

Make sure that you are getting folic acid for good development of your baby. Too little folic acid is a strong cause of spina bifida.

Try emetrol, it's safe and over the counter. If it doesn't help then call the doctor's office and ask them if they can call in a script for phenegran. Tell them the morning sickness is debilitating and you have to have something

Unfortunately for some women, this kind of nausea is normal during pregnancy. One over-the-counter product, Emetrol, helps but be sure to clear it with your pharmacist first.
