I don't know if it will cause any permanent damage--as I have never done it. I just know that if it is uncomfortable you should probably wear sunglasses. I know my eyes are extremely sensitive for a few hours after.
Also as long as your puplis are back to normal size it shouldn't be such as issue.
I am not a eye doctor so I cannot say for sure but I would take caution just in case.

i would wear them until they were not dialated anymore. with your pupil open all the way like that, you could burn your eye
