To my understanding ntl/telewest bought virgin mobile, and gave a lot of shares to Richard Branson, and relabled as Virgin Media as Virgin had a better customer services reputation.
One lost is the texting mobiles service via ntl interactive, probably because that was provided by Fabmobile. People had money in the texting accounts, obtained by ringing a premium rate number, they weren't told it would be taken away.

Not all the sky channels, just the base sky channels like Sky 1, sky2

That sucks. So far so good here, but i don't have mobile with them, just broadband, tv and landline. we're going over to their V+ service next week (virgin equivalent of sky plus) and have hopes that'll work just fine.

most things like this will have a transition period where things go wrong but they do seem to have been lax in providing info. out of four people i know with ntl only two of us got information about it.

Well, I have Telewest, and I have noticed they have alot of excellent packages for new customers..so I called up and complained that I was paying too much..heh heh!!, as I heard if you complained you can get it cheaper too..but to no avail..! But Non-Direct Debit has been raised by a pound..which isn't much really. And they have a better automated voice when you call..and its quicker.so I guess the customer care is better.
But theres still time to see whether it will better or not..its only just happened.

I thought it would be a courtesy to inform customers they would be switching to Virgin since I just turned on TV and it was the Virgin welcome rather than Telewest. Also, apparently, Virgin are feuding with Sky and so they may remove all the sky owned channels. I think Freeview is looking appealing.....
