I am very new at this and have lots of questions. My site will have mostly video and audio which will be uploaded by users. My page will need to have an "Upload Video" button as well as an audio button. How is this done? Is it done with my web editor or some other way. I just don't know how this works. :-)
Also, I want my site to have a search feature so users can searech my site. How is this done?
I have looked at many possibilities for a webhost. Since my site will largely comprised of audio and video how much server space would I need to get started?
Any help will be sooooo appreciated! Thanks!

Well, to do all those things take a somewhat more advanced web designer, and a LOT of space. I wouldn't reccommend a novice attempt to do that just yet. I know that doesn't exactly answer the question like you want, but I think it's a valid point.

To implement these features you will need to learn a web programming language such as ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, JSP.
You can create some of the features you mentioned using an editor, but most of them will need to be written from scratch.

You can try for an open source program like Coppermine Photo Gallery, it is actually for photos but you can also use it to upload videos, it is also a multi user program, people can register on your site and they will be able to create their own albums, and upload videos and photos.
Look for a host that have Cpanel and and Fantastico, Coppermine Photo Gallery is in Fantastico, it will automatically install when you click install on Fantastico.

Just like they said, you need to learn a programming language for all of this to happen.
I can help you out with server space, as I can give you a large amount (5GB) to get a start. 3.99 /month. You would have to purchase your URL (usualy $10 per year on average).

This is a very advanced project for a beginner like yourself. I would suggest hiring someone to do it for you since you don't know much about HTML, PHP, Javascript, etc.
