Not the personal ones.....I have learned more from other people with similar situations and appreciate them...but stuff like homework help, yeah the answers are out there and they just don't bother.

I agree completely. It's as if people don't want to do the work of having to surf through websites on google, and if someone else is willing to do it for them, wee, 10 points.
But that's not the best example -
my favorite ones are when someone is trying to tell a story about how they left their book at school but this assignment is due tomorrow, and list out a handful of chemistry questions. Or the ones that ask a specific question from a textbook without adding any actual details of what the text is in review of. And they always ask it like they are just going for general knowledge... I don't get why they have such a hard time admitting they want someone else to do the work for them.
I mean, if you are going to cheat, why lie about it?
Agree 100% with asker, giving star for this question. This entire medium makes people lazy. Or rather brings out the laziness in people.

Your right but sometimes we want responsess based on personal experience or are just taking polls however, even that causes laziness. I should be cleaning or working out. Instead my husband is paying me to answer and ask (mostly) dumb questions. LOL, Ill have this place shining and food on the table before he gets home. He'll think I busted my butt all day. Otherwise I risk losing my beloved DSL, lol.

Well for the record Wikipedia is a bunch of bulls**t full of lies trying to pass itself off as a true source....
I think it's more fun to come here. And it doesn't promote lazyness....it promotes social interaction.
hold on while I wait for my mom to press the submit button...

Some people are not good at research, even if it's made simple by those websites you mentioned.
Some questions are so trival or obscure that no amount of research will help answer the question.

I agree but if people used Google and Wikipedia, I wouldn't have more than 1000 points now would I?

Fully agree
About 50% are easily googled
Most of the rest are rubbish posted in Polls & Surveys, and only a few are actually worth bothering with.

Yeah I do and its one thing that will finally get me fed up. My husband teaches school...he has caught people writing into YA for the answers to test questions and many times we have been asked for an answer...and could we please write it in essay form.
I have started to keep some simple search and information sites handy and I do tell people how to look things up and find reliable sites. One problem seems to be, people do not know how to use the internet for research. <>

yeah, but why research when you can just type in what you want to know, wait a few seconds, and there you go. It's effectivley the same as googling for information, yet it's easier and more sociable.
