I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I keep feeling this "flicking" in my lower stomach. Like when you take your middle finger and flick it off your thumb .. I'm feeling that on my inner lower stomach. Is that the baby kicking? I seem to only feel it when I'm sitting at my desk or relaxing at home. It's kind of like a flutter ...

it's my first baby .. I don't know what to look for :)

Thanks!

I had the same question when I was pregnant. I guess the best way I would describe it would be gas. Have you ever had gas bubble in your stomach? I think that's what it feels like. I often felt those flutters when I was sitting at my desk working also! I'm sure it's the baby!

It's a light fluttering feeling. When I was about 4 months my younger sister asked what it felt like. I told her it kind of an odd way of looking at it but if you've never felt it, think about gas bubbles in the bottom of your stomach. You can feel light movement. That's the only way I could explain to someone that's never been pregnant. Now at 7 months it's obvious. My stomach bounces around for about a half hour or so at a time and you can feel pressure of him pushing against my stomach. If you feel light, steady and consistant tapping the baby has the hiccups.

It's hard to tell for sure, but that sounds like what it feels like. I've had 3 kids and believe me it will get to the point, pretty soon, when you can actually watch your stomach, move and contort, and there will be no confussion.

When I had my 1st baby: the first time I felt kicking for sure (and you should try it) was when I was in the bathtub, taking a warm bath.
I was laying back and thought I felt some small "fluttering", but I knew for sure when I looked down at my stomach and could actually see it jerking, and moving! It was small, but normally it won't move at all :)
Good Luck
I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!!!!

It almost feels like butterflies in your stomach when you first start to feel movement....it is more noticeable when you are sitting still because you have less distraction from it. IT won't be too much longer before you feel some undeniable kicks!! Congrats on the baby...enjoy the feeling, someday you will wish you could feel it again.

That sounds like baby movement to me...a lot of people say it's a fluttering. As you get further along the they will turn more into jabs and kicks.

Yes, that is your baby. It is a wonderful feeling and you should enjoy it, the movement will become more intence as you get further in your pregnacy. It will be like a water bed, and the feeling wil become much more than a flutter. I am so excited for you, lots of people dont get to feel that feeling enjoy it.

when u start having kicks u will know about especially if they stick a foot in ur ribs cuz when it happened to me i had to push it back in sumtimes it hurts anyway it feels like butterflys in ur stomach like sum1 tickerling u on the inside but further u go theyre get stronger they always seemed to kick when im just settling down to sleep
cuz u dont feel them as much when ur moving around but the reason u feel them when ur sitting /lying down cuz you've calm down and relaxed and thats when u feel them more
i remember the 1 time my partner was sleeping on his side and i was lying behind him my baby kicked him and it was that strong it woke him up and blamed me for hitting him in the back they r more active at night

To me it always felt like timy bubles popping inside, only in the early months though. When you get further down the road sometimes it will feel like the kid has a spoon and is trying to dig their way out, like a prison break.

It could very well be the baby moving or shifting. A kick will be a sudden "thump" that you will feel. One book that help me tremendously was "what to expect when your expecting". Follow this link to get a copy and the best of luck to you......MOMMY!!!
