I just read a quote of John Howard's in the 2.26.07 issue of Time magazine where he says "If I was running Al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and pray, as many times as possible, for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats".

This was in response to a statement by Barack Obama that if he's elected he would pull out all the troops by March 2008.

The statement was bad enough that it could single-handedly get the PM voted out of office. There is almost as much anti-war sentiment in Australia as there is in America, and they don't have anywhere near the amount of troops there that we do.

Howard made a sorry, sad line of attack that Republicans have been using to no effect here in America for the past 3 years.
