Okay,

Izzie dislikes Callie for a number of reasons.:

1. George is Izzie's best friend.

2. Callie came in when George was hurt by Meredith and ingratiated herself into their little family going so far as to move into the house and walk around the house naked when George complained that she was wearing his bath towel.

3. George pushed Callie away to get more space and wound up finding out that in that brief day or so Callie slept with Mark. George broke up with Callie when he found this out.

4. When George broke up with Callie, Callie assaulted Meredith in the changing room, accusing her of telling him what happened and Izzie had to get in the way.

5. After George lost his father he started to sleep with Callie for sex to make himself feel better. Callie asked Izzie to step in and talk to her friend. Izzie did and got an eyeful of George's penis.

6. Later, after the shock of seeing George naked Izzie told him that he was not with Callie for love but for sex and that this was not how to cope with his father's death. He told her that he was not going to curl up in a ball like she did when Denny died. Then he went and married Callie.

7. George and Callie eloped not giving anyone the chance to talk them out of getting married.

8. George moved out of the house again to live with Callie at the hotel leaving Izzie with noone to talk to anymore.

9. Meredith was dead, and Callie was talking as if she was part of the group. What's more she told Izzie she was losing her friends.

and 10. Denny is dead and Izzie is alone so her "monster" is growling.

I think she feels left out in a lot of ways, like Christina and Mer have each other, Alex completely screwed her, and George is the only one left who truly relies on her. Then some girl comes in and 'takes him away' which is why she immediately goes on the defensive and tries to make Callie feel like she doesn't belong. Without George, what has she got?

also, Izzie and Callie are character foils.

Callie embraces the trashy while Izzie has lived her life trying to run away from her 'trashy' trailer park past. Callie has no where near close to the perfect body, yet shes comfortable and cofident enough to be naked around strangers. Izzie is a lingerie model, yet shes self consious. There is so much more, but Callie is her foil.

Oh my god. I started watching Grey's Anatomy in the second season. I fell in love with the show. The best thing for you to do is either buy Season One & Two and watch all the episodes so you can see how George and Izzie got to be so close, and st you will understand what is going on, because they tend to incorporate a lot of things from past episodes into new ones, if you are not sure if you are a Grey's fanatic yet then you could also rent the previous seasons episodes at your local blockbuster video. The show is my favorite to watch on television right now, along with Ugly Betty.

FYI- Every sunday night on Lifetime channel they air episodes from season one. I can't remember if they air at 10 or 11 eastern time.

ok so this is what's going on (great choice in shows by the way) Izzy knows that George is still in love with Meredith and that he married Callie to make himself feel better after his dad died, and there is a little bit of a personality conflict. George and Callie had kinna been on the rocks and then all the sudden when his dad died, he popped the question and they headed to Vegas. So Izzy thinks that it was a mistake.

She doesn't think Callie is suitable for her friend George. Callie used to sleep around a bit but she & George met & fell in love. Izzy is very overprotecive of George.

I think it's just a click thing. The residents don't seem to want any outsiders breaching the click. The girls especially, are overly protective of George. He's fragile, always has been. Nothing personal against Callie really. She's probably going to be the one hurt in the end.

I will add to what others have said:
He is her best friend. For a while Burke and he were great friends but she is his best friend. If he is married, she is out of the piture, so there is some jealousy going on there. She knows that she can't depend on Merr or Yang because they are best buds, and she has a history with Karev. She doesn't want to be alone in the world. I think her lonliness will promt her to find her daughter.

She doesn't think Callie & George are good together. She thinks he just married Callie because he was upset when his dad died.

Jealousy of someone else being happy when she can't be. That girl is seriously messed up.
