Do cardiovascular exercise 3-4 days a week for 30-40 minutes (at least). Cardio is the best fat-burning technique. This could be running, jogging, jumping rope, etc. You also might want to try a little weight lifting. Lifting weights doesn't make you lose weight obviously, but it speeds up your metabolism and transfers your fat into muscle, giving you a more toned look. Yes muscle weighs more than fat, but you will look thinner because you have less fat and more muscle. Also, I would recommend doing (and sticking to) a Pilates ab workout or some sort of ab work out...like crunches. But it won't help if you have a layer of fat on top of those the muscles, so put more emphasis into cardio to speed up the fat-burning process.

As for your diet, eliminate as much salt from your diet as you can (salt is the hardest thing to leave your body and resides mostly in your belly...resulting in stubborn belly fat). Just watch what you eat - low calorie, low fat food and a reasonable amount of carbs. Stay away from microwave meals (Lean Cuisine, etc.) as they contain insanely high amounts of sodium. Most importantly - drink TONS of water!!!!! I'm talking at least 8 glasses. Bottom line, if your pee is yellow, you are NOT drinking enough water...it should always be clear. Drinking water will help your body to digest your food more efficiently (so you're less hungry) and to regulate your metabolism as well. Yes it will feel like you are using the bathroom every 5 seconds for a couple weeks, but your body will adjust and it pays off! Trust me.

Just stick to a plan! You should see results in a few weeks if you start now.
