They are using the interview process to see how well you are able to use your base level knowledge when required in a non-typical situation. Please remember that when you are an IT professional, you "clients" don't usually have the same background as you and they want to see how you will interact with them when they ask these "dumb" questions.

As a finance professional I can tell you the most valuable IT person isn't necessarily the one who has the most experience and knowledge, but the one who can get that knowledge to the stakeholders in way so they can us it.

Same thing with me as well! I am glad that I am not the only one suffering from this new craze of asking stupid questions. How many drives does it take to make a RAID configuration? I mean come one... they should be asking how many servers have we built.

I would sure like to hear an answer from a real recruiter!

** I just read the answer below mine. Thank you for opening my eyes to the perspective of the recruiter. I meant no disrespect. So when we answer technical questions about the FSMO roles of Active Directory break it down out the the technical jargon so that the customer understands......thank you for your advice.

i assume that if you're planning to affix at 17 that you've already got yoru mum and dad help. they ought to signal papers to allow you to affix before you change 18. i did not enlist until eventually after i might want to finished college. It worked out tremendous for me--i necessary somewhat extra existence adventure and adulthood to address miltiary existence. i don't think of i might want to have made it at 18 yet it truly is of course no longer authentic of everybody. so a lengthy way as college is going, all states, except California, grant some type of educating options to guard individuals and instructions are very supportive of steerage. (Oklahoma, to illustrate, provides one hundred% preparation at state colleges--you purely pay expenditures and for books and for housing in case you want it). i don't know if i have made your decision any extra reachable, yet i wish you'll seem into how enlisting faster can help you with college--its an quite accessible decision. there is actual no longer something incorrect with waiting, although--relies upon on what's correct for you.
