Depending on the size of the paper clip, a normal size paper clip weighs in at about 1/16th to as much as a half of an ounce.

If you have a good scale that is just not precise enough at small weights, you can probably calculate the weight by putting a bunch of them until you get a somewhat noticable weight, and then dividing by the number of clips on the scale. You would get an "average" value, but it would be a lot easier than to try and find a scale that can react to a single paper clip.

You can weigh 1000 clips of paper, or another number of clips of paper which they weigh near 2 pounds, and divide the weight between the number of clips of paper, and that way to know your answer

Divide the total weight by the number of paper clips to get the average weight. There are many sizes, and therefore weights, of paper clips and so the value you obtain will only apply to that particular type.

It also depends on the manufacture. Some use different size wire, plating and if you look at the cross section some are flatened. Most use a low carbon wire this is east to bend.
