I think we are, as a whole at least. We have created a political structure that breeds beauracracy that is so dense that the entire system is a bogged down mess. Most Americans dont even know much about our history in a complete sense, consequently it makes it difficult to see the constant repetition and mistakes made. As a people, I believe we are well intentioned although pop culture makes us look like mindless ethnocentric consumers.

Wrong, Yes. I think the "What goes around, comes around" saying is working on us now for all the shady, backstabbing we've done to the other countries in the past.
I think a better question will be "Do you think America has yet to learn diplomacy and humility?" So far I think the answer is no...
