i had a blank disc and a dvd burner. I copy and pasted the dvd files on to the blank disc. Powerdvd is the only thing that reads the disc. I think the dvd players read this disc as a burned disc. Do I need to use a special software so it plays in my home dvd players.

first you have to make sure you have the file structure set up correctly.
you should have a video_ts folder which holds the dvd files like *.vob etc. You should also have an audio_ts folder which is empty.
Other than than, make sure you are using the proper media for the player you want to use, some stand-alone players only read dvd+or-r discs...some read all of them.

If you just copied the file onto the DVD, it will play on your PC, but not on a standalone player. You will need to use a program that will convert it to DVD format first. I use Diko, it's cheap and works very well.
