Chow. You can even tell if a dog is part chow by the black on the tongue.

All dogs can have black tongues or pigmented tongues. It is not a special characteristic of any particular breed. It is seen more frequently in chow chows and shar peis, but not specific to them. It is probably a trait that has persisted from their ancestor, the wolf. Black tongues just reflect melanin, like a beauty mark.

A chow or a chow mix. The black tongue is a dominant trait so it comes through in any cross breeding.

A chows tongue is technically purple, but many breeds have birthmarks on their tongues of the same color.

The only two true pure bred that have blue/black tongue is the chinese shar-pei and the chow chow. there tongue's should be a solid blue ,black, or lilac color , of course they can also have patched or spotted (color) tongues but it isnt favored.

(breeder of the chinese shar-pei for many years)
