You could talk about Lucille Ball or Marilyn Monroe. There's tons of books and info on their lives. Or you could talk about the presidents of the 30's and 40's. Roosevelt and Truman did a lot of interesting things.

Try Teddy Roosevelt. He did lots of things both in political office and out. He changed a lot of things between 1902 when elected our 26th President and 1919 when he died.
