Is an electronic air filter better or worse than a media filter. I have heard that the media filter does a better job with dust than the electronic air filter and is less expensive. Does anyone else have any knowledge of these filters? Many thanks in advance.

A media filter is better than electronic ones due to the pleat size can vary from 5-8" and be able be kept in the unit for longer periods of time. The installation can be done easily. An electric filter uses a 115 volt power source which has to be installed to power the unit, though cost are more for one you would not have to buy filters. But in your question an air bear would be the best advice

Electronic ones pick up smaller particles than media types, its good to use both if you have trouble with air quality. I recommend that if you use a media filter too, get one thats HEPA rated, it will catch smaller particles and do a better job. It will cost more too.

you could also try putting little filters in your vents where the heat actually comes out, i've seen them in the harriet carter magazine and they're also online.
