I had very little money when my daughter was born and like you wanted to thank those who gave my baby shower. I made my own thank you notes and personalized them with things that reminded me of them or things we had in common. I then wrote a personal message in them by sharing some of my favorite moments with them when I was a child. If that isn't your style, Things Remembered has 1000s of ideas for personalized gifts and they are very reasonable. Good luck with your new addition!

How about a "snack" basket? You can get all of the stuff at the grocery store (save the basket), and each can be personalized. Just put in the person's favorite little snacks, candy, cookies, and drinks, drink mixes, teas, etc. Or you could even get samples of skin creams, bath salts, and stuff like that for each person. You can make the basket as big or small as you wish. Wrap it up with colored clear plastic wrap (available the same isle as tin foil), and top it off with a bow.

Make something yourself. The best gift doesn't have to be cool as long as it makes an impact. You could make personalized Christmas ornaments made specifically to hold a picture of your dear little angel, you could bake them cookies and wrap them up like a present. Just be creative and it will make a smile sprout from the receivers gift.

I don't know where you're from, but around here in the Eastern US, we have things called Color Me Mine. You can paint ceramics & they glaze & fire them for you. Very popular & Cute. I'm going to make plates or little gifts for my family & friends as a thank you.

Make your own thank-you card. Write on the inside
how you plan on using their gift. If your bundle of joy has arrived enclose a picture of your baby.

Engraving with their initials is something personalized. Maybe a silver box, music box, pill box, pen set.

There is a website www.fantasyglassworks.com and you can order different glass items and have them engraved for free. I ordered my boyfriend a scotch decanter with glasses for Christmas and it was around $75.00. They have all sorts of things....ice tea glass pitchers and with glasses, wine flutes......many varieties of ideas.
