He was probably the best cover corner in NFL history. Year in and year out he would take the other teams best reciever completely out of thye game. He was proabaly one of the top 5 all purpose players. He played cb, safety a little, returned kicks, even a little reciever and wasnt too bad for a primary defensive player. Deion was a weak tackler and hitter which was probably his only weeknesses. I would put him in Top 3 or 5 Best Cornerbacks of all time.

He is the best cover corner of all-time. QBs would not even throw anywhere near him. While Champ is very good, he still gets thrown at. That means people obviously believe they can (and have) beat him. There was about a 4-5 year period that Deion would not see a ball thrown on his half of the field. Unbelievable. His weakness was that he would not tackle. He'd try to push guys out of bounds. It's too hard to say who's #1, but he's clearly top 3 all-time.

well, he was definitely the best athlete at the position. In terms of pure cornerback skills, i'd say he's top 3 or 4. In terms of all-round talent for football, he's easily one of the best athletes the NFL has ever had.
If you're going strictly by cornerback standards, I'd say top 3 or 4. He didn't have as much eye popping stats as people like Rod Woodson did, but you have to remember teams simply didn't throw to him. There hasn't been many people in the history of the NFL who were true Shutdown Corners, and Deion was one of them.

No, well espically not if you consider that Rod Woodson played Corner for a few years because the Steelers needed him there. He is likely in the top 10 maybe top 5.

I would have to say he was one of the best players of all time, because he did everything Offense and Defense, I believe he will make the Hall of Fame. Is he the best CB ever, I don't know. But he does make a strong case for it

He is one of the greats, but only because he was also able to contribute in other areas. He was spectacular to watch in his prime. But I don't think he was the best. There are so many good ones, Darryl Green, Eric Allen, Champ Bailey and not to mention other players who are now in the hall of fame. I don't think he was the "best" though.

He could not hold a j*** strap to Mel Blount .He would have gotten his butt kicked forward and backwards the entire length
of the field . This guy absolutely feared tackling anybody.(.Sanders)

One of the best athletes, yes
Best corner ever......that's an insult to guys that actually played the run. Best corners ever may just be Willie Brown and Lester Hayes
