Start out by going to at least one Spring Training game in Port Saint Lucie.
Then get excited because on paper as always the Mets look "good".
Study Mets History from the 70's to the present.
Have faith that this will be the year. But act humble, not like those Cub or Bosox fans always preaching.
Be mentally tough because Yankee fans will torment you and by the All-Star break the Mets will be 14.5 game s out of first, but you still need to follow with passion. Don't be a front runner Met fan. Take the good with the bad. Mostly it is bad, but that is what makes being a Met fan loyal. Just be humble and act with dignity, not a loud mouth know it all.

If you want to be a Mets fan, this year aint the right one to join. With star pitcher Pedro Martinez out for 3/4 of the year and El Duque looking not good, the Mets are in for a rough year. There is already a fued going on between the Mets and Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins. I have to agree with Rollins, Philadelphia is THE team to beat. With one of the best staritng rotations going into this year, and superstars NL MVP Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, and speedster Shane Victorino, the Phillies are set for 2007.

i'm no longer outraged by potential of any potential. Why might Omar be signing tests left and suitable for unfastened brokers whilst the industry available for pitching is so adverse? ought to he have given Silva and Lohse 4 years? ought to he provide Livan something? Colon? those names are all mediocre or worse. people who incredibly follow the team, incredibly of in simple terms checking the internet internet site as quickly as each week and whining whilst there is not any longer an excellent commerce, comprehend that Omar has been in discussions for each ace-kind pitcher accessible such as Santana, Bedard, and Haren. The Met farm equipment in simple terms can't tournament as much as that of the Yankees and purple Sox and Diamondbacks and Dodgers and different communities like that. the only actual hollow in the Met team is commencing pitching. The bullpen is underrated and Omar has been smart by potential of no longer throwing funds down the drain on adult men like Linebrink and Vizcaino. incredibly, he stockpiles power hands and robust youthful expertise that he has drafted in the previous. Do i think of the Mets are a widely used place team suitable now? No. i in my opinion think of they could be a third place team; despite the fact that, I proceed to have faith in Omar Minaya who's in charge for restoring credibility into this franchise after the pathetic run of 2002-2004.

You adamantly deny being a Yankee fan, and root for the Red Sox when they play the Yanks. Go Sox! (Sox fan who is in love with a Mets fan - the only type of New York baseball fan I can stand)

burn all copies of game 7 of last year's NLCS while reciting Casey at the Bat, but substituting the name Beltran. Buy a copy of the entire NLDS against the Dodgers including the two men out at home play. Learn to block out all talk of the Yankees. Learn the rosters of the Phillies, Nationals, Braves and Marlins and learn to dislike all of them. Gloat whenever the Braves lose.

First, you have to remember that no matter what...The Mets are AMAZING. second...that even when they are in last place, they are still the best team ever. third...hate the yankees and the Atlanta Braves. There are many other ways...but most important to remember is this: Kenny Rogers should have been taken out, Octavio Dotel should have been put in...then Andrew Jones wouldn't have been walked, and the winning run wouldn't have been walked in.

New York Mets fans are a long-suffering bunch. No amount of winning will stop the team from being overshadowed by the historic New York Yankees. But that’s a part of the appeal. The New York Mets are underdogs even when they’re in first place.
