it was in a country road.... head on head, i think it was knock for knock, but they say they were stationary... it had a sign saying national limit- the black and white one. so i assume the speed limit was 60mph, but i was only goin thirty, it was round a blind corner though and was very wet. i obviously didnt take liability and am waiting to hear from them as my car was not damaged at all and there is pretty done in. Was i doing anything illegal?- if i deny responsibility what will happen?

Its very obvious to me that their car is a right off and yours is not too badly damaged. I would say they were going perhaps too fast and you were going at the right speed for the weather conditions..

I wouldn't accept even partial respnsibility if you know you were in the right,,,

Fight your corner

they should learn how to drive!!

So you ran into a stationary car .

Thank God, you were ONLY ,doing 30 miles per hour .

you were moving , but the other car was not .

You came around a blind bend
( at that speed?) and in wet conditions !!!

you can only drive safely ,according to road conditions at the time .--------60 mph is not mandatory ,

were you extremely cautious, of hidden obstructions.
because the road was wet and the bend was 'blind '

you were at the wheel of a car doing 30 mph ,
and you hit a stationary car
.
You surely can not deny the facts or deny liability.

I am sorry to say ,from your details ,
you are ==up the creek without a paddle !

>^,,^<

Were the police involved ,
you would, certainly have been done for careless driving

And the insurance company ,would take a very dim view
of your future insurance credibility .

Sorry, to give you such a gloomy report :(

Inform your insurance company and get a claims form, it may well be considered knock for knock and you may well lose your NBC, but that's the chance you'll have to take, failing to notify your insurance company could be a big mistake. It not that you were doing anything illegal, but an accident is still an accident and you insurance company should be informed.

You should inform your insurance company and tell them what happened and let them sort it out for you, thats what youare paying them for, other than that seek legal advice or try the motor insurance board for more advice.

any insurance company will tell you never admit liability, just forward the facts and if you wish your opinions to them and them alone

Don't admit to ANYTHING and let your insurance company handle it. They'll hire an attorney and he/she'll tell you what to do. Don't talk to anyone- refer them to your insurance so the attorney can do the talking for you!!

Sounds like they will do you anyway - you were clearly the culprit....give up - turn yourself in - go to the local police station and they may go easy on you - or else you may need to baricade yourself in your house and they when you are surrounded, comeout shooting - ahem - thats what I'd do anyway....really
