I often think about how lovely it would be to die a beautiful, poetic death, but in all seriousness, I wish to die at an old age, in my sleep, preferably of heart failure, surrounded by family and friends, and at peace with God. I don't want to die in a nursing home, or even a hospital, though the latter may be inevitable.
If I had to die wherever I could choose, it would be during a thunderstorm, at my own house, facing an open window as the rain and wind poured on my withered face, like God was calling me away.

I guess I would want to die of a drug overdose.....Hopefully I would just go to sleep and die and never even know.....Or the next best would be a fatal car accident when I did not even see it coming......I don't like pain and I don't want to see death coming....I just try to enjoy every moment of every day the best I can and when my time is hear I can say I did the best I could and had fun along the way..ss

You ask a question about death and you don't want anyone to 'be morbid'? That's very silly.
But anyway...to answer your question. I want to know what it feels like to burn alive. Painless is pointless to me, since I think death should be the most intense (and final, obviously) experience of my mortal existence.

With our culture's fascination with physical violence and blood and guts gore movies, you make it kind of hard to answer. Myself? I would probably go to a quiet, secluded spot where noone would ever find me and either slit my throat or take an overdose of valiums. Doing it this way, I wouldn't have to be hassled by people trying to persuade me not to go.

A fall from a really high building, or going to sleep. Some deaths are unthinkable.

Natural causes in my sleep. I hate the idea of drowning, being shot, or stabbed. It scared the living daylights out of me. Scared of dying. EEKK

Something painless. Or fast. Lethal injection or a drug overdose. I'd rather die in my sleep, I guess. It's weird thinking about that.

I want to get really old and then die being asleep at the wheel where I was killed so fast I didn't even know what hit me.

I think it would be very quick, and I would be vaporized.
