I am able to put some songs on my ipod but not others, why is this? I have looked on the apple website and asked around. I am using limewire to get music and the musaic doesnt tranfer. I have windows xp and all the newest updates for the ipod software I am at a loss

You will have to check the songs that aren't transferring, and check which file format they are in. The iPod supports MP3 and AAC (there may be another, but that's the main two), so if the files you're downloading are WMA files, or OGG, or if they are PROTECTED AAC or WMA files, that could be your issue.

iTunes should automatically convert WMAs to MP3/AAC (depending on how you have your import settings set) when you import them into your library, unless they are protected with DRM.

To find out whether it is protected or not, usually in XP you can just hover over the file and it will say, or LimeWire will say it, or alternatively, right click the file, then click properties, go to the Summary tab, and click Advanced. Under Origin, you should see "Protected: " and then Yes or No to the side.
