What is that weird instrumental at the end of "strawberry fields forever" And what is the person saying ?

I think the instrument you mean is a mellotron, which souns like a flurry of flutes
while John says "Cranberry Sauce", which many thought meant "I buried Paul"

That strange instrument was a mellotron.
The words "cranberry sauce" are more clearly heard, especially during the edit piece joined onto the end of take 7.

im not sure... but rumor has it that if you play the song backwards it gives a message... so that could be a peice. but hey its the beatles, you'll never know the real reason behind it they were all buzzed.
