I'm not talking about real elections, I'm talking about World Cup Forum elections that everybody is all excited about, when they mean nothing! Yes, real elections are important, but what I'm talking about is a popularity contest between different web users.

No, because elections results are important. When we vote, we make a big difference in the world we live in. If we do not vote then society will never change, and ignorant, selfish people will be our leaders (Like they already are.) Having a voice in government is a great power and our decisions will have a lasting impact on the future.

On sport... it doesn't really matter who wins a tournament. It will not change the world. Wars are still being fought. Polar ice caps are melting. People are dying. Football does not change it.

A bunch of rich athletes on the field will not make the world any better, wiser, or safer.
