I am considering moving to Ocala, Florida. How is it in terms crime, real estate prices, schools, etc?

Mmm, I can only talk about it as an occasional visitor to the general area and Orlando...

It looks nice, it's a little congested in the commercial areas, you get tons of bugs during the summer bug mating season (the ONLY downside I see), and you are pretty close to Daytona - a great spot for fishing and nitelife and other things. I have not had any problems with crime while visiting.

I live down in the Fort Lauderdale area myself.
