I live in Manchester, and my children in Hampshire. I see them when I can and have them with me for school holidays.
I have just been informed that in May they are moving to France with my ex wife and partner. Does anyone know my rights or what I can do to stop them moving. It will be impossible for me to see the if they move.

The judge will look at the ages of the children and what your divorce decree states. If your ex wife is not married and she is not moving to France for occupation and betterment of the children's lives then a judge will often issue an Order of Stay until the matter can be resolved. I would act quickly with an attorney or contact legal aid in your state. The wheels of justice often move slow and you want to block her from taking the children out of country.

Also, review your divorce decree. There have been instances in which people have difficulty moving to another state due to the aforementioned reasons, let alone another country. Once the children leave the U.S. then the chances of seeing them or trying to change anything is almost nil.

I wish you much luck. Each stage of a childs life is precious and I would certainly want to be around even on regular visitation to see them grow up.

Yes, you have rights as a parent. Here in the U.S. there is a lawyer advertising that same situation, and says he can block the move, citing that the spouse has that right. I would assume i would be the same in the U.K. You would have to consult legal council there though to find out for sure.

Good luck.

SUE THE HELL OUT THAT B&I*T&C(H....read between the lines,, but seriously though, sue her, she cant do that, UNLESS you signed something in you and hers divorce decree, i think somewhere in there it says that neither of you are allowed to "move" out of the country unless, the kids stay behind, something like that, if i was you i would sue before she flees......andrew

You need to consult a lawyer, I believe you should be able to stop them from leaving if it means you won't be able to see them.

what works her in the USA doesn't have to work in the UK.

I would see a lawyer
